MESSAGING NOTICE

Messages stay useful and controlled.

What happens when shops and customers use Dropinly in-app messaging, push notifications, email, and SMS.

In-app conversations

Shops can use Dropinly to answer customer questions about bookings. New customer-started conversations are limited before owner approval so the inbox stays useful instead of noisy.

  • Customers can message only shops they are linked to through bookings or waitlist activity.
  • Shop owners and managers can approve, decline, block, close, and reply to conversations.
  • Staff and front desk roles may reply where the shop has granted them access through their tenant role.
  • Deleting a message from the customer side hides it for that customer account; it does not erase the shop record.

Push notifications

Message push notifications are generic on the lock screen. They say that a message is waiting, then open the correct Dropinly app thread. The notification body does not include the full message text.

Email and SMS

Booking confirmations, reminders, waitlist offers, and account notices may still be sent by email or SMS where applicable. Marketing messages require the relevant consent and plan settings.

Retention and controls

Messages are retained as part of the shop's customer-service record unless the shop deletes the data under its own retention process or a verified deletion request applies. Customers can control push permissions in Android or iOS settings and can request account deletion from their Dropinly account settings.
